I look forward to bidding this godforsaken year adieu. A year where so much went to hell in a handbasket, when I realised just how much I needed a blog like this.

I met so many lovely people, but lost contact with almost as many.
I fought for myself when I needed to, but had it go so wrong so fast.
I found security in myself, and questioned the most fundamental aspects of my identity.
I loved, I hated, I won, and I lost.

Looking back though, I want to say this year’s been a win. It’s hard to ignore that I’m sitting here struggling to reply to texts mentally preparing myself for a friend’s friend’s NYE party, while I know a fair few of my circle are at a party I wasn’t invited to. It’s hard to say with certainty I’ve had as drastically positive of a year I wanted, but I think I did okay.

At the very least: the firestorms came and went, I’ve started dancing again, my life has reconnected and regrown. Plus, I met my girlfriend this year. My rock, my confidant, my muse. The woman that taught me the definition of that word.

I’m grateful for the people still around, that made it through this year with me. I hope 2025 is easier for all of us.

Lots of love,
Hare xx
